Ever since I started minimizing my wardrobe, I’ve been fascinated by the idea of a perfectly curated capsule wardrobe. Oh, the promise of simplicity, ease, and effortless style. Yes, please!

But let’s be real—the “perfect” capsules you see on Pinterest (you know, 30 pieces or less, neutrals-only, no personal flair or pops of color) are not what most of us want. I can’t even tell you how many taupe trench coats, black blazers, and classic white button-downs I’ve bought—and promptly returned—over the years.

My capsule wardrobe didn’t come together in one epic closet purge or by following a Pinterest blueprint. It’s the result of eight years of small adjustments, learning what I actually love wearing, and slowly editing out what doesn’t work. In fact, I just donated my last two silk blouses from my pre-kids, downtown San Francisco office days eleven years ago.

My version isn’t about following rigid rules; it’s about creating a closet that makes getting dressed easier, and that truly feels like me.

Today, I want to show you what a simplified, realistic capsule wardrobe can look like—one that works for your life, your personality, and, yes, your style obsessions. (I’ve got quite a cozy sweater collection myself.)

Here’s how I got there—and everything inside.

I’m so thrilled you’re here, and I truly appreciate every subscriber. As a reminder, paid subscribers get access to my monthly behind-the-scenes (like this one!), seasonal Q&As, and everything in the archives.

An annual subscription costs less than $3 per month, though my goal is to save you much more than that by helping you simplify the stuff and find the joy in owning less. Commit to the journey—I’d love to support you along the way.
