With September here and the kids officially back in school, I’m excited to start planning my weeks and resuming our usual routines. I love having the kids home during the summer (most days!), but juggling camps, activities, and travel—all while trying to work—can be challenging for this type-A, structure-loving introvert.
As someone who thrives on routine and regularity, it feels great to regain some control over our schedule and reestablish our school-year rhythms, even though I know everything can (and eventually will) go off the rails at any moment.
Last January, I switched from a traditional weekly planner to a more customized bullet journal. While drawing the lines makes it a little high-maintenance, combining my weekly agenda with a categorized to-do list has been a game-changer this year.
